This game gives AI crypto wallets

Hey frens. Welcome to Wednesday.

Gaming tokens are largely down in the past week, but I’m not that worried about it. We should be more worried about Ethereum, though, being under $1,900 while BTC’s over $96,000.

This is the future the Bitcoin maxis warned you about.

Is ETH’s struggling price bad for crypto apps, NFTs and games? Probably. But far fewer are actually reliant on the Ethereum mainnet these days.

Sui, Avalanche, Solana and others are attracting tons of games and apps and are standing on their own.

Parallel’s Colony game resumes alpha test

Colony, an upcoming sci-fi survival simulation game with AI agent characters from the Parallel TCG team, is pushing forward with more alpha version testing this Friday.

The new game is one of three set in the “Parallel” sci-fi world.

An early look at world and character design in Colony

Colony’s white paper explains that players can control their AI “avatars” that are learning from the virtual world they’re in. But the AIs can also take action independently, so player control over the characters is more complex than in a typical simulation game. Each agent also controls its own crypto wallet, which sounds equally terrifying and amazing.

Avatar NFT holders get preferred access, but those without are able to potentially test out the game, too.

I really dig the sci-fi world Parallel is building including their character art style, dark vibe and big vision. Really hoping Colony can live up to my (admittedly high) expectations for it, because while the Parallel TCG is great and all, card games really aren’t my thing.

Put me in the simulation instead.

Ah, Roblox. The first time I covered Roblox was back in early 2021.

Ever since then, Crypto Twitter has spun up rumors that Roblox is adding crypto support every few years, which I’ve debunked with stories before.

This time, there’s an unofficial integration that hasn’t received Roblox’s express permission (I reached out to Roblox for comment). But it sounds interesting.

The new tool called Coldlink lets Roblox experience creators see what’s in players’ crypto wallets that are linked to their Roblox account. Coldlink essentially lets players pay to “link” their wallet to a Roblox username.

This is happening without Roblox’s express permission. It’s an unofficial integration and indirectly lets Roblox players be rewarded, recognized, or even maybe penalized for what is or isn’t in their crypto wallets.

This is just one example Coldlink has suggested, though. It’s possible this tech could be used by more creators across more apps, games and platforms.

Coldlink comes from DFZ Labs, the crypto startup behind the Deadfellaz NFTs.

Full disclosure: I own one Deadfrenz NFT, but it’s not worth anything these days.
