Bitfinex Got Rugged
Folks, sometimes you just can't make these things up.
Luckily, with blockchain technology epic fails are on full display and easily traced. On Monday, the crypto exchange Bitfinex was hit with a $23.7 MILLION gas fee when it was trying to deposit $100,000 of Tether USD into a specific wallet. How the heck did this happen? Well what we do know is that Bitfinex was sending this Tether to DeversiFi at around 7 am EST and likely someone manually "fat-fingered" an irrationally high gas fee. This is especially ironic since DeversiFi advertises a service to “avoid gas costs and frustration, saving you time and money with every trade or swap". Likely this was a human failure from manually inputting the fee on DeversiFi's end. Regardless, an Ethereum miner just got the payday of a lifetime from that transaction!
Hamster is the Warren Buffett of Crypto
I might be running to Petco before I make my next crypto purchase. For those of you who haven't heard, Mr. Goxx is a hamster who trades crypto. Yup— you read that right. A rodent trading crypto. He began trading in June of 2021, and for a new trader, Mr. Goxx is doing incredibly well. He is currently up 15% on his portfolio which is outperforming The S&P 500, Cathie Wood, Bitcoin, and probably you too.
Here's how this hamster makes his trades: Mr. Goxx has an "Intention Wheel" and two tunnels (buy and sell) in his little hamster house. A computer cycles through a list of 16 cryptocurrencies (DOT, XLM, IOTA, BTC, TRX, XRP, ADA, ETH, CHZ, LINK, DOGE, BCH, PAN, EOS, LTC, UNI) while he runs on his intention wheel. Once he stops running, the computer sets his "intention" to buy or sell that coin. Running through the buy tunnel will purchase €20 of the specified coin, and running through the opposite tunnel will liquidate the position. Check out Mr. Goxx's livestream here.
Now all we need to know is how good Mr. Goxx is with NFT's.
