What's Dropping ⚑️

  • NFT Bull run incoming? A recent surge in blue-chip collections is running the numbers up, and analytics are clear. As we move towards the latter half of April many are expecting a spring-time bull market for NFTs.

  • Wolf Game released Cave Game, an extension to the currently running Alpha Game on Monday. Cave Game is a fully playable Blockchain quest game where your staked Wolf Game NFTs explore a cave to find everything from $WOOL to merch.

  • Former NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly has just sold out his collection of 3,333 Postcards from Space. This amazing project has donated 100% of net proceeds to the Global Empowerment Mission, for the Ukraine Crisis. Orange Comet helped with the art, which will reveal on the 15th.

  • Golden State Warriors are dropping a playoff NFTs exclusively on FTX marketplace! The collection consists of 3,000, with some being redeemable for special physical merchandise. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated towards education in the Bay Area.

  • Eva Longoria just grabbed a Boss Babes NFT and flexed it on Twitter. The project is run by a fully doxxed female team and represents ambitious and bold women coming together in Web3.

  • Imagine, earning NFTs or crypto by exercising? Solana-based project STEPN has run with the idea of Move-to-Earn. Find Satoshi Lab is looking to redefine fitness and gaming after raising $26 million in its first quarter. Their unique system rewards users for their daily step count.

Los Muertos WπŸ’€ Next Blue Chip?

In the world of NFTs, there are many different nationalities represented. From an engineering student in India to a venture capitalist in Sweden, the places that people represent are endless. It comes as no surprise that the Los Muertos project has had so much success.

With heavy backing from the Hispanic community, the project is sitting comfortably on a 0.5 ETH floor, at the time of writing. They minted on April 6th for 0.05 ETH each, and have been on a rocket ship ever since. Depicting the sugar skulls that are present in the Mexican culture, these colorful β€˜muertos’ are unique. Even though it’s a PFP, the amount of work that has gone into making the skulls is apparent.

In the world of NFTs, communities are an essential component when measuring the success of a project. But, with the combination of real-world communities and Web3, the possibilities are endless. From having a great representation to having actual conviction, these types of projects tend to succeed because the communities WANT to be in the space. They WANT to succeed. It's becoming apparent now that new projects that are finding success are blazing their own path and not copying current blue chips' style and design. WAGMI, muertos.

NFTs Are A Door Into Venture Capital πŸ’°

There are several barriers to entry for individuals looking to exercise the power of their fiat currency in service of budding ideas. We often hear about investors who were able to seed their capital in various startups early on, such as those who were able to with Uber, Facebook, or Snapchat. Centralization has made it such that it is nearly impossible for the average person to allocate capital towards blooming markets. NFT projects are often functionally seeding rounds, and thus, the ability to practice venture capitalism is a door opened by this node of the Web3 ecosystem. Take, for example, the NFT anime project Second Self which is selling a stake in their new series as an NFT.

Holders will get to join DAOs that correspond to the different characters in Second Self, and make decisions about their role in the show. The project is currently minting and has an impressive array of holders. Like Second Self, CyberBrokers is an example of another initiative that utilized the funding from their mint to bring their project to fruition. This pattern is becoming increasingly common. As developers who wish to leave their IRL jobs work to flesh out their dreams, they quickly realize that they can use NFTs to not only fund their startups but to incentivize contributors with tokens that accrue in value as the project also sees success.
