What's Dropping ⚡

• Metaversity just dropped their Early Admission Applications for presale (their WL), which gives everyone the chance to mint early based on their application. Metaversity is building the college of web3, dedicated to helping people generate income on Web 3.0 technologies. This will be accomplished through its profit share paid to NFT holders, and courses such as flipping NFTs, staking and lending crypto and more.

• Rebel Bots dropped some insane updates including partnerships with Ubisoft and Makers Fund VC. It wasn’t too long ago that the floor on Rebel Bots was 0.018 ETH, now it’s sitting comfortably around 0.4 ETH. This is a massive turnaround, but really shows what a determined and focused team can accomplish when they ignore the FUD and just keep grinding.

• Saatchi Art has entered the conversation with “The Other Avatars”.

• The Simp DAO trend continues.

• NelkBoys announced the launch of the Full Send NFT collection yesterday. They gained 20,000 Discord members in 50 minutes and actually broke Discord. More details in the article below.

• Owners of the GAP Collector's Special NFT will have the ability to mint an Epic NFT today at 12pm EST to purchase the Frank Ape Hoodie (Only 99 available).

• ChillChat, a collection of 1,500 animated 1 of 1 NFT Origins part of a Create-to-Earn game mints Friday, Jan. 21st at 3pm EST. Mint price is 2 SOL.

Full Send NFT Broke Discord 🤯

NELK Boys are a group of YouTubers known for their prank videos, vlogs, and brand Full Send Entertainment. They have over 7 million subscribers on YouTube, and just announced that they are launching a Full Send NFT collection. This will be a collection of 10,000 MetaCards with various utility such as a mint pass, exclusive access to events, physical locations, and merchandise. They were also recently on a podcast with Gary Vee, so it’s no surprise that these boys have decided to launch a collection shortly thereafter. However, the most shocking part is just how quickly they are launching this collection. It seems as though the announcement came out of thin air, as the earliest Discord message was from Monday at 3:37pm EST. This image is all it said:

A few hours later they literally broke Discord because of how many people were joining the server. The group has amassed 300,000 members in less than 24 hours. The Roadmap and Official Links pages are still resting with that bright red “COMING SOON” image, but in an AMA yesterday at 3pm EST, we found out “coming soon” actually means coming... today! Fortunately, although many other aspects of the project remain unknown, their website is pretty well established. Besides that, here’s what we know: Apparently there is a Whitelist (WL) sale, though we have no idea who could have made it on the WL. The WL sale will take place today at 12:30PM EST. The Public Sale will follow shortly after at 3:30PM EST. Additionally, the mint price is still undetermined. Check out our Twitter for announcements and updates. Anything we hear between now and the public sale will be announced there or in our Discord!

Wen Whitelist? 👀

Whitelist. Whitelist. Whitelist. That’s become the latest name of the game.

The NFT community is adopting new members at a rapid pace, and with that comes more stringent requirements in order to become whitelisted. Newer releases are proving to be exceedingly clever as they look to foster long term growth and community awareness with their projects. A few of these tactics include: inviting members to the project Discord, being an active participant in the chat and holding a NFT from a collaborators collection.

As we head into 2022, we can expect to see projects becoming more difficult to mint once the public sale goes live. Just a couple days ago, a project by the name of FOMO MOFOS sold out in 10 seconds. If you tried to mint from the website, you probably lost gas due to a failed transaction. The ones that were able to mint were either people minting straight off the contract while using max Gwei, or people utilizing bots. Whitelisting is a tried and true way to ensure that you have a confirmed seat at the table before the gas wars commence.
