Easy Elves Airdrop & More 🪄

In the early hours of Wednesday, Easy Elves airdropped WL tokens to holders of 2 staked Elves in increments. This is the first of their reward mechanism which is aimed at providing elevated utility and immersion into the world of Sindaria (Folklore). The airdropped when revealed consisted of four wands; Eldar, Ice, Bionic, and Forest. Each wand varies in rarity from the other and also exudes real-life (IRL) utilities to enrich each Elvish experience.

As stated by the team, all wands will have the same multiplier standard despite acting as the native token’s ($EZY) multiplier. They have a major role when it comes to enhancing combat ability in Sindarian lore. Wands will also provide holders with exclusive WL opportunities and access to future mints and rewards.

In addition to the airdrop, Easy Elves highlighted in the Twitter thread about launching their Raid2Earn program to capitalize on the launch and gain added exposure. Another major announcement was the STERILIS launch- The Elvis Murder Mechanic, the first Solana gamified system which provides a general outlet of fun for both the Solana and Easy communities.

OpenSea Copymint Detection 🔒

OpenSea has been helping us to navigate the often wild seas of an emerging NFT art space. The image of an open and vast sea filled with trade and new-found delights is incomplete without a black flag raised above a boat with a skull illustration at its center. Where there is sought after for original work there is a network of people duplicating it and selling it as the original work. For all of an NFTs ability to prove ownership, this is an attribute of it only after acquiring it and not before. In other words, buyers will always be prone to copies unless a marketplace is actively vetting for the legitimacy of the works it's hosting. That is where OpenSea’s new copy mint detection system comes into play.

Using an automated detection model, OpenSea will be actively scanning through all previously uploaded work to weed out copies. In addition, the model will be performing the same function in real-time detecting newly uploaded copies within seconds and removing them immediately. While this system is designed to make sure that copymints don’t make their way into unsuspecting buyers’ wallets, it is also designed to make sure that genuine remixes can flourish. The copymint detection system will scan for all permutations of verified projects, and after it flags something there will still be a human eye involved to make sure that the system is performing appropriately.

For those interested, this is the current trending list on OpenSea. As you can see Art Gobblers has claimed #1 and second place isn't even close.

Degen Sweepers Name Change

The Urkann-led project formerly known as Degen Sweepers over the weekend announced to its holders and the public that the collection has parted ways with the old name “Degen Sweepers” and has rebranded to a new name-Degens.

Although the rebranding has been in the project’s plan since its minting days, turning the page on the past and taking the brand to another level are the two goals that saw them rebranding from Degen Sweepers to Degens. Moreso, their wish in changing their name in terms of branding is to shorten the name to be more impactful, simple, and even more obvious. “This radical change now helps us set the stage for what is to come. Professionalizing the brand with more minimalist designs while trying to keep a light Degen feel” the project tweeted.

Also in the Twitter thread, the project commends its community for sticking with them during the hardships and expresses gratitude and pride for making out of it altogether. Degens seemed to have received the announcement well and are in good spirits as they came up on the ‘Degens, the rebirth’ Twitter spaces held yesterday to share their thoughts and reviews about the new identity of their project.
