Shopify NTF Marketplace

Shopify launched a new NFT beta platform for creators, but it’s not quite as inclusive or simple as their advertising makes it out to be. Their website claims that they making NFT’s “easy to mint and sell,” as well as making it an even smoother process for buyers. Buyers can use forms of payment such as Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, crypto payment gateways, and credit/debit cards. Shopify will enable airdrops, memberships, unlockable or “gated” content such as merch, and certificates of authenticity. However, the Shopify Plus membership starts at $2,000 a month... which honestly is just about as bad as gas fees right now. Blockchains such as Ethereum, Polygon, Near, and Flow will be compatible with their market.

Again, this beta launch isn’t going to be for everyone. Shopify’s NFT Beta Program is open to US-based merchants on Shopify Plus. As of now, there are two projects advertised on their NFT landing page, and after digging a little deeper, it’s difficult to determine whether these companies are actually selling NFT’s or physical products. Of course, there is a possibility it’s both. But it should be a little more clear, especially since neither enables the crypto payment gateway option mentioned previously for buyers. It’ll be interesting to see how many Shopify Plus members are actually in the market for a platform to create NFTs. But at the end of the day, Shopify saw an opportunity and capitalized on it. There have been over $10B in NFT sales in quarter 3 of 2021 alone, and Shopify is about to get in on their portion.

Adidas Metaverse NFT

We are getting much closer to seeing what Adidas means by their dive into the Universe. Yesterday they announced that their collaborative NFT drop will be with BAYC, Punks Comic, and GmoneyNFT will launch today. What is the NFT going to consist of?

All we know is the features given by the Adidas website...

As you can see Adidas is keeping everything pretty close to their chest. This could possibly be a complete stealth drop so if I were you I would be a hawk on Adidas' twitter all day today.
