What's Dropping ⚡
Crypto OG’s might remember the fall of Mt. Gox, a cryptocurrency exchange that suffered a hack in 2011 which resulted in the loss of 850,000 BTC. The former CEO of the bankrupt exchange has announced that certain users will be eligible to claim a commemorative NFT.
NFT Los Angeles is in full swing now until March 31st! CatBlox and Psychedelics Anonymous both hosted epic events last night.
Legendary artist & designer, Takashi Murakami has a new pixel-art project. Murakami.Flowers is a wonderful and simple love letter to video game sprites of the 1980s.
The Drop founder, Gannon Breslin, got a tattoo of a meebits on his lower back. 😂
NBA team The Atlanta Hawks will be celebrating Fan Appreciation Night on April 6 during the team's final home game. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to scan a QR code during halftime, which gives them access to a commemorative Forever 404 NFT. An NFT of Nelson Mandela's original arrest warrant from 1961 sells for $130,000 on Momint. In regards to utility, the buyer will have exclusive access to the physical document at Liliesleaf Museum.
Another BAYC slips through the cracks as the holder of #835 accidentally lets Ape go for $115 USD. Apparently, the holder of this Ape also let a piece from their MAYC bag go for a low price as well. Sources say it may have been due to the initial offer being in DAI rather than ETH, which may have confused the seller.
NFTs and literature, how can the two coincide? Well, a recent good deed has solidified that connection. Edmonton author Todd Babiak released his novel Daughters of Walsingham as an NFT, with only a single copy available. After being sold, the owner has donated the NFT novel to a local library, where it can be rented out virtually and read by locals.
NFTs Preserve History Of Russia/Ukraine War
In a world of disinformation and media sabotage, it comes as no surprise that people in society do not trust what they are seeing. From propaganda to outright banishment of certain events, media coverage seems to be more skewed than ever. And with the case of the Ukraine/Russia conflict, information seems to be flowing from many different channels, yet not being distributed to the people that are living within the conflict. This causes two sides to form over factual statements that can be proven with photographic evidence.
Meta History: Museum of War is a project funded by the Ukraine Ministry of Digital Transformation to immortalize events in the war on the blockchain. Each NFT will feature a tweet pertaining to a different period within the conflict, along with an image. The project will be released on March 30, at a price of 0.15 ETH. All proceeds from the sale will go to the Ministry’s fund to help Ukraine.
Disinformation is used by russia on a par with deadly military weapons in Ukraine. The NFT-museum is based on a deep intention to keep the memory of real wartime events via blockchain and raise charitable donations to support Ukraine.

This project is defined as an effort against Russian propaganda, by utilizing the blockchain ledger. If you mint a photograph on the blockchain, it lives forever. Anyone can see it on the blockchain, and no one can change it. And in a world where you don’t know what to believe or what you’re seeing has been manipulated, having a correct timeline of the events that have taken place, especially in a time of war, is very impactful.
XCOPY Sells Out Instantly 🚀
The prolific and well-established artist XCOPY dropped an open edition last Thursday and sold 7,394 of his NFTs titled Max Pain at a price of $3,108 each in just ten minutes. In other words, the artist cleared 24 million dollars in ten minutes. The piece was dropped on Nifty Gateway and was open for anybody to mint so long as they minted within the ten-minute window. Days before the launch some collectors were worried that the lack of a limit on the total number of pieces that could be minted would cause a market saturation and collapse the secondary market. The strength of XCOPY’s provenance and artistic refinement have kept the floor price for the project above the mint price of 1 ETH with its current trading price clocked in at 1.3 ETH.
XCOPY is a pioneer in the NFT space with a track record dating back to 2017. In fact his piece "A Coin for the Ferryman" that traded for $139 or 0.5 ETH in 2018 sold for 1330 ETH or six million dollars this past November. The success of XCOPY’s drop speaks to the commitment the NFT space has for valuable artists and the commitment that serious collectors have for the space.
