What's Dropping ⚡️

• At around 1 AM EST both Bored Ape Yacht Club and Doodles discords were hacked. Luckily both communities were swift in finding out about the hack. This is a friendly reminder that large projects rarely if ever post mint links without explaining to the community well in advance about the specific event. (more below)

• Allow-list platform PREMINT is launching their Collector Pass NFT at 10 am pacific this morning. The roadmap is posted on the site and doxxed PREMINT creator Brenden Mulligan has been going into detail about the details all week on Twitter. Over 35k people registered to get one of 10,000 spots on the allow list. Congrats to the lucky 500 Drop members who won the WL raffle!

• Azuki’s dominating NFT LA, throwing what many have described as the best party of the event has had an epic week. They’ve now flipped MAYC and airdropped 2 NFTs per Azuki held. The drop, entitled Something Official, has a current floor of 4 ETH. (more info on this below)

• Gutter Cats announced that Species 1 Gutter Juice enter the Cloning machine.

• Catblox announced a Metaportals airdrop for holders.

• Cyberkongz goes live with an untradable collection of replica Kongz. These fully on-chain tokens remain forever attached to their original counterparts.

• Visa hopes to get its foot in the metaverse door with its rollout of an in-depth NFT Creator Program in the hopes to make the world of crypto more accessible. Visa is by no means the first to market with crypto cards, as Ledger and Coinbase have had similar products in place for a while now.

🚨 BREAKING: Discord Hackers Take Over

As you saw in the What's Dropping section both Bored Ape Yacht Club and Doodles' discords were hacked at around 1 am last night. The Drop (along with others) tried our best to inform the NFT community the second we got word...but some thought it was an April Fools joke. Shown below one person feels like they have a hunch about what happened already. Keep in mind all this news is fresh off the press so details may change.

Now we don't have full confirmation that Captcha.bot is the issue however it certainly does not hurt to take necessary security measures. To protect yourself if you are on Discord go to User User Settings -> Authorized Apps -> Deauthorize that bot just to be safe. It should look like this below.

Once again, webhook vulnerabilities are causing these discord hacks as the official Bored Ape Yacht Club twitter states.

Update: There are also conversations swirling that it is NOT the captcha bot and that was just a rumor made by a webhook competitor. Rather this person below makes the argument that it's Ticket Tool as you read about below. Regardless of what it is, please be careful with links as always!

Azuki Floor Flying After Airdrop 🎈

Within the past week, Azuki’s floor price has catapulted from roughly 12 ETH to about 22 ETH. The spike in floor price led to fervent anticipation regarding a potential piece of news hinting that Azuki might drop during their IRL event, “The Garden Party.” The speculation was well-founded; watch the clip below to experience the moment when holders of Azuki were directed to inspect their wallets in order to discover a surprise airdrop.

The airdropped NFT, named Something Official, is now sitting at roughly a 4 ETH floor and is now the second most traded NFT on OpenSea within the last 24 hours. We know each airdrop will contain two items, while no additional information has been revealed about what holders can expect to discover inside of the wooden crate, as it falls gently from the sky.

At the time of writing, Azuki has now overtaken Doodles in terms of floor price, and the project continues to climb. A trend visible amongst the giants of the NFT projects is that they offer their holders engaging and exciting utility, such as the aforementioned airdrop. 

Samsung Moving Forward With NFT Plans

As we reported in a previous newsletter, Samsung has had its eyes set on entering the NFT marketplace industry for quite a while. Incorporating their Smart Hub ecosystem, Samsung hinted at the idea of being able to buy and display an NFT on a TV while presenting at the CES 2022 conference.

Samsung has decided to integrate a marketplace in partnership with Nifty Gateway. With the marketplace available on Samsung’s 2022 QLED, Neo QLED, and Frame TVs, the Nifty Gateway integration will allow you to buy, sell, and display your NFTs in an easier way. Samsung will be employing an ambient method to display the artwork, which means that when you turn off the TV, the device will automatically switch to ambient mode, which in turn displays your NFT collection. The future of art and art display can be understood when examining this new philosophy. As time progresses, more homes will begin proudly displaying NFTs as their prized possessions. WAGMI.
