Happy Tuesday,Thank you for being patient with us last week. We had half of the team at NFT NYC networking and enjoying all the events. We are back from the big apple and although we are very tired, we feel stronger than ever. Today's issue gives a whole breakdown of NFT NYC and all the developments that happened - this is definitely a newsletter not to miss.
What's Dropping ⚡️
Rumor has it that Rockstar will have in-game cryptocurrencies and NFTs in their next GTA release. We would not be at all surprised due to the company's previous efforts at creating entire economies in their games. (Tweet)
Snoop Dogg impersonator fooled thousands in New York last week. (Video)
Sandbox and TIME magazine have collaborated to create a digital representation of Times Square in their metaverse. (CoinCU)
@AxuETH made a ranking for all big name NFT projects that you can view here.
INCYMI: @zachxbt (the Sherlock Holmes of NFT/web3 scammers) released his biggest write up yet on the story of Machi Big Brother allegedly embezzeled 22,000 ETH.
🏆 NFT NYC RECAP
The Drop Recovery Suite
If you are reading this you probably have already seen or heard about our stealth event that we put on over the course of three days during NFT NYC. The Drop Recovery Suite in the W New York was the first IRL event we have put on as a company and we couldn’t have asked for it to have gone better. Hosts were provided with IVs, O2 therapy, breakfast, massages, and tarot card readings - along with a quieter space to relax and talk to other individuals deeply involved in the space. Over the three days, the crowd only grew and our proof of concept came alive more than ever. We are definitely going to do something bigger and better at our next event so stay tuned.
Magic Eden x Phantom "Degen Yacht Party"
Magic Eden and Phantom set sail on a yacht near Pier 40 for their “Degen Yacht Party”. With four levels of open bar and multiple DJs, the energy was loud and incredible. It was hard to put a number on how many people attended the event but a safe number would be in the thousands as you can see in the images below.
It was fascinating to listen to the founder of Magic Eden talk about the journey of their company from essentially nothing less than a year ago to now a billion-dollar company. One of my favorite one-liners came from Co Founder / CTO Sidney who lived on a friend's sailboat to save money just a year ago (read more about this incredible story here). He stated along the lines of (and what I can remember), “As I am sure most of you know that I used to live on a sailboat, but now I’m on a yacht!”. The crowd went wild and it was a very fun event. Another highlight was casual booths set up for all of the major SOL projects. It was amazing to connect and be able to share The Drop and we look forward to sharing much more about SOL projects and communities.
if you are a SOL project founder reading this please reach out to us we would love to cover your project!
Ape Fest
Obviously, the largest attraction at NFT NYC was Ape Fest at Pier 17 held by Yuga Labs. This was a 4-day festival that highlighted incredible performances from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Future, Haim, The Roots, and others. Open bar, food, good vibes, and incredible installations made this event unforgettable (unless you are scared of a little rain here and there). During Snoop and Eminem's performance, they premiered their new song "From The D 2 The LBC" and shortly after dropped the music video that has garnered over 10 million views since its release 4 days ago.
We’re still floating from the energy of ApeFest ‘22. Thank you to everyone - our community, the staff, vendors, performers and our sponsor @0xPolygon - for making this year’s event so memorable. Scroll the 🧵for some of our favorite moments and photos from last week:

Editors Comment: One of the main collectible items from the event was the BAYC poster they gave out (each day had a different Ape Fest poster). Being an avid poster collector I was bummed I wasn't able to get my hands on one since I personally didn't attend the event. On one of the last days at NFT NYC when I returned some borrowed Token Frames at the beautiful web3 gallery a random person struck up a conversation with me and our writer about Ape Fest. He noticed my friend has a poster and I did not and without hesitation, he gave me a poster that is now hanging in my room. It's little things like that make me love this space.
Adam Bomb Squad Pusha T Party
Pusha T live was simply incredible
Took place on the 7th floor of the Edition (Times Square). Featured an open bar that was pouring the highest quality of drinks such as Grey Goose and even Patron.
350 people capacity, meaning that the concert was very intimate. You could see Bobby Hundreds from every spot in the venue and Pusha T put on a show like no other.
The Hundreds-branded merch was thrown into the crowd over and over, talk about utility.
People left this party wanting to scramble to buy a Bomb Squad NFT.
This tweet below perfectly sums up the overall success of the event...
Psychedelics Anonymous "PA House"
The vibes were amazing at the PA house
Near NYU, the PA house was 2 floors of absolute beauty and tranquility. From the floral accents to the metallic undertones, the house was a beacon for all PAs.
Some of the coolest people we met during the week were ones that we met at the PA house or were at the PA house at some time. The PA community is one of the best in the space, and the house’s ambiance proved that.
Free drinks every day, a DJ performing every night, special areas for genesis holders, and multiple levels of lounging areas to the event that provided countless opportunities to network.
Never forget how important the art is in this space
@jyxdi is incredible!

During this event, the announcement of the Psychedelics Anonymous sister project labeled "Ezu" came to life. Above you can see @jyxdi painting one of the upcoming pieces. Don't worry, we will be covering much more about this project soon 👀.
Doodles Event
The Doodles event turned more heads than anyone could have imagined and people are throwing around the words like "Doodles is the Apple of the NFT space". This is largely in part because of new CEO @jholguin 's incredible keynote speech about the future of Doodles. If you are scratching your head here's why:
Doodles 2 announced: with traits, wearables, gasless customization and more
Dooplicator has perpetual utility and can dooplicate traits from OG collection
Doodles Records Volume 1 is going to be executive produced by Pharrell in partnership with Columbia Records
To get a full scope of how stunning this event was take a look below.

Goblintown Event
Easily the most chaotic event of the week as the announcement of the address happened in real-time. Over 1,000 were standing outside, causing the NYPD to call in reinforcements. Inside there were tattoo stations where people were getting Goblin tats. Needless to say, it lived up to the expectation of a free mint that has now grown to over $4k a piece.
Murakami Gallery at Gagosian
An interactive gallery that displayed Murakami’s early works, along with the collections that he has produced in the NFT space
AR interactive galleries that allowed attendees to see virtual flowers growing from the ground, and statues coming to life
Although we are aware this wasn't every event at NFT NYC we thought it was important to cover the ones that at least one of our team members got to witness with their own to eyes. We hope you enjoyed this breakdown 😊
