WAGMI United x Crawley Town FC x Adidas ⚽️

On July 6th NFT traders will have the ability to purchase WAGMI United’s NFT collection. The owners of the NFT then become part of a decentralized society that gets to govern and manage the league 2 soccer team Crowley Town F.C. Although the team is the smallest club among the 96 teams that make up the English Football League, WAGMI United has tremendous plans for it. And WAGMI United is not short on reputable names, its roster of founding partners and advisors includes Gary Vee, Gfunk, gmoney as well as Snowfro, the artist behind Chromie Squiggles. Despite the fact that it is uncommon for Adidas to partner with and produce for league 2 teams, they’ve announced their official partnership with WAGMI United and they also released a visual for their jersey.

The Chromie Squiggle at the center chest of the jersey is a clean look and represents the first time that an NFT will be the primary symbol on a professional athletic jersey. It is no small undertaking to try and elevate a league 2 team into the premier league but WAGMI United and Adidas have placed their bets on the emerging tide of Web3’s powerful coordination and governing protocols. This marks a major moment for NFTs as they try to wrestle power from the traditional legacy style of sports management towards a system where the fan’s voice determines team decisions. 🚨 WAGMI United's NFT drops July 6th - find more details about their mission here.

Felon "Heiress" Debuts NFT Project 😒

The Web3 ecosystem usually brings scammers to light. But rarely do we see scammers and con artists entering the NFT game (unless your name is Tai Lopez). Star of the Netflix series Inventing Anna, Anna Delvey is now making her NFT debut.

But first, here’s some background on Anna:

Anna Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorkin, was born on January 23rd, 1991 in Soviet Russia and moved to Germany at the age of 16. She then moved to New York in 2013, which is where her conning career began. When all was said and done, Anna had conned socialites, banks, hotels, and more out of thousands of dollars by taking on the persona of a German heiress. Ultimately, she was charged with grand larceny and found guilty of 6 counts in 2019. Her prison sentence was supposed to be a maximum of 12 years in prison, but she was released in February of last year.

The New York Times

Now she wants to do an NFT project?Reinventing Anna, as the project is called, will give holders an "array of utilities". According to the project’s website, “All holders of the Reinventing Anna NFT will get ‘access to Anna’ via exclusive live streams and other online and metaverse events, and a select group of top holders will have access to coveted personal items from her time in prison, personal sketches drawn by Anna herself, and even one-on-one calls with Anna.” They are also planning on future airdrops, and they will favor those that hold onto their NFTs. (is it just us or does this feel like another scam?....)

When it comes to NFTs, transparency is key. And when it comes to Anna, depending on which version you’re talking to, there is murkiness to the truth. The blockchain doesn’t lie. It’s a global ledger that can’t be manipulated. Is this the start that Anna needs to prove that she isn’t a scammer and to have full transparency over her Web3 business ventures? Or is this just another cash grab before she’s gone again? WAGMI, non-scammers.
