Yuga Labs' "First Trip" Metaverse Experience 👀

“HELLO FROM THE OTHERSIIIDDDEEE!!” No, but seriously. The first part of an 11-part journey in the Otherside metaverse has commenced. And they’re off to a very, very good start.

What is being dubbed the “Voyager’s Journey”, constitutes the first phase of what Yuga Labs has been cooking up, and has finally initiated its course with the First Trip. This metaverse experience has been the best that we have seen so far, with lore and intrigue that has been created for and by the community. Holders take this journey with fellow Voyagers, and work together to accomplish missions, like saving the Kodas. At its peak, there were approximately 4,500 people simultaneously in the game, yet users experienced little to no lag. That’s a massive accomplishment in and of itself. Previously, we reported on the mechanics that allowed Yuga to accomplish this feat - by running tests with actual users.

The design of the Otherside metaverse is very well thought out and is condensed with beautiful renderings and visuals. Bundled with an element derived from teamwork, and a collective effort in missions, the metaverse becomes a community-driven activity platform. In the First Trip, the primary mission (main boss) was to defeat the evil Koda. And the only way to accomplish this was when all the Voyagers banded together to defeat the boss. The mission, in retrospect, was to work together. Which goes to show what the Otherside experiences will be like in the future.

Yuga Labs has proved time and time again that they are the pioneers of innovation and execution. From the Apes to the Serums, the idea of Otherside is also one that has been meticulously planned and developed with the holder in mind. Yuga breeds experiences. From IRL to the metaverse, the most exclusive events are and will remain to be from Yuga Labs. So the question is, are you going to attend? Are you going to take part in this Journey? WAGMI

 Project Spotlight: Devotion 🚀

If we didn’t already have enough examples of artists, investors, influencers, and creators making serious moves during crypto winter, add community favorite Andrew Wang to the list! Andrew, @sighduck, and @backseats_eth have recently announced their exciting Web3 venture, Devotion. According to our research, one of the team's explicit goals for Devotion is to be a source of light in the space during a moment when it is otherwise darker and ominous. His inspiration for this art studio, resource, and innovation house is born in part from his desire to reciprocate the life-transforming environment that the Web3 space has holistically provided for his benefit.

Andrew has partnered up with Sighduck and Backseats to bring Devotion to life. The studio will first and foremost serve as an art house, cultivating artistic ideas and onboarding artists that align with their values. More interestingly, the stated goals of Devotion extend beyond art for simply art's sake. Part of its purpose is to gear art for function. For example, they consider code as art in its own unique form and plan to offer open-source code to users. Devotion will also design UX for a more robust and personalized experience for users. Andrew has built a solid and stable reputation for himself in the space, and if Devotion should be any reflection of him, it’s a venture worth keeping an eye on.

For those wondering, this was not a sponsored or paid-for post on Devotion. As always, paid-for content is clearly outlined in our newsletter.
