Ticketmaster x Avenged Sevenfold NFTs 🎟️
Ticketmaster just launched a sweet new feature that lets artists give special access to concert and event tickets for folks who own a particular band's NFTs. They teamed up with the band Avenged Sevenfold for this first run to make the magic happen.
💡 How did it work?
The first peeps to get in on the action were owners of the band's 10,000 Deathbats Club Ethereum NFTs. They got to snag tickets to upcoming shows in NY and LA before anyone else! Apparently, the NFT thing worked pretty well, with about 1,000 tickets being bought with it.

Disney Shutters Metaverse Amid Layoffs
Walt Disney eliminates its next-gen storytelling & consumer experiences unit, which was developing metaverse strategies. This was move was part of a broader restructuring to reduce headcount by 7,000 across the company.
1. I’ve seen a lot of articles in the news recently about the “death of the metaverse” just b/c companies like FB and Disney are laying off their “metaverse” employees or b/c PS VR isn’t selling well. The authors of those articles have entirely missed the point.
