What's Dropping ⚡️

  • Nike and RTFKT just dropped the Nike Dunk Genesis Cryptokicks, which can have their appearance altered by skin vials ranging from common to super rare.

  • NFL drop a Polygon NFT collection of tickets that are tied to an upcoming draft, though we're not sure exactly how.

  • Meebits holders rejoice after the Co-Founder of YugaLabs tweets his desire and focus for their utility. In response the floor has shot up to 6.8 ETH.

  • Project Iceman is an upcoming film produced by Yes Theory and will be entirely funded by NFTs. Digital tickets will be sold for an exclusive virtual premiere. The film will follow Danish athlete Anders Hofman as he completes a massive triathlon in risky weather.

  • Archie Comics jumps into the metaverse with a unique perspective and plans to drop a collection that will allow holders to generate character traits and storylines for comics.

  • Wyre has teamed up with Chess.com to launch an NFT platform that allows users to play chess to win NFTs.

  • Skull Dungeon, genesis skulls mint, featuring art by LEGO’s character design lead, Djordje Djordjevic, mints today.

  • CGI influencer here.is.rae is a virtual being who has amassed a large following on Instagram. She has announced her second NFT collection called "Adventures of Tako".

VeeFriends Series 2

If you’ve been following Gary, you have probably heard of his flagship project, VeeFriends. His vision for VeeFriends has been one of total domination while building utility for the community he cherishes so greatly. So, it’s not surprising that his second series has minted and finally revealed after 13 days: Vee Friends 2.

The public mint for the project was on Monday, April 25th at the price of 0.335ETH. The rest of the mints were distributed based on what else you owned in his collection. With the floor price fluctuating around 0.83 at the time of writing, I think it’s safe to say that this second series is doing pretty well for a post-reveal market position. But the game still isn’t over. You still have the ability to mint the second edition NFT with the use of Gary’s Book Games, which is highlighted in the tweet below.

The reveal was bittersweet. While some love the art and cartoonish vision, others were quick to slam this collection as a “blues clues” art collection. The art contains an array of characters with very unique backgrounds and settings. But, as we say, for many projects art can be the second priority. The utility comes first.

With Gary Vee at the forefront of the NFT movement, being a part of his ecosystem will prove fruitful for many in the long run. From being the spokesperson for the ever-changing market dynamics in terms of decentralization to throwing his own NFT conference called VeeCon, Gary Vee is a leader through and through. And if an individual believes in his message and his vision for the future, this collection is a great entry into the Vee world. VeeFriends, WAGMI. 

 BAYC Discord/Instagram Hack Recap 🚨

Amid the anticipation building over BAYC launching the Otherside on April 30th, hackers took advantage of eager BAYC holders and walked away with 4 BAYC, 7 MAYC, 3 BAKC, and 1 CloneX. The value of the goods stolen amounts to roughly 14 million dollars. The hacker’s heist was as successful as it was because they were able to penetrate the official Instagram account of BAYC, despite BAYC having a double authentication system in place. This isn’t the regular instance in which a holder makes some mistake out of their own volition, instead, when they received the message pasted below, they thought they were receiving communication from the authentic BAYC account.

BAYC has responded professionally, reaching out to all of those affected and devising an appropriate response. This particular example speaks to a more general pattern that NFT traders should stamp into their awareness. In those days or even weeks leading up to a highly anticipated drop, it is best to avoid any type of correspondence with links or messages that are off of the regular schedule or being sent from unknown users.
